Frequently asked questions

Do sessions take place online or in person?

I offer both. Online sessions take place via a secure, GDPR-compliant video platform — all you need is a private space and a reliable internet connection. In-person sessions are also available; please get in touch to discuss location and availability.

What if I’m not sure therapy is right for me?

That uncertainty is completely normal. The free consultation is exactly the right place to explore that — there’s no commitment involved. We can talk about what’s brought you here and whether therapy might be helpful.

Is everything I say confidential?

Yes. Confidentiality is fundamental to good therapy. Everything you share is kept private. The only exceptions are if I have serious concerns about your safety or the safety of another person — and in that situation, I would always try to speak to you about it first before taking any action.

What if I don’t get on with you as a therapist?

The relationship between therapist and client is arguably the most important part of the work. If it doesn’t feel right, I’d rather you told me — and I’d rather help you find someone better suited to you than continue in a way that isn’t useful. This is something we can always talk about openly.

Are you registered with a professional body?

Yes. I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and adhere to their Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions. I engage in regular clinical supervision and ongoing professional development.
